About Us

The Chorei Tribe also known as "Reivon" or Riam are tribes  with a distinct culture, custom, and administrative system. The Chorei's  one of the Indigenous Ethnic Community of Northeast India  belongs to the Zo-Kuki-Chin-Halam family of the Indo-Mongoloid race.

The "Krishnamala" (History of Tripura kings, in the event 1748-1783 AD that was narrated and recorded byJayanta Chantai and Dijo Ramganga respectively). Later it was compiled and written during1790-1800 by Dr. Jagadish Gana Choudhury described the Chorei Community at p-24, 52, 248, 265, 272 as a faithful devotee to goddess Bhavani and account a friendly relationship of the Maha Raja Krishna Manikya with the Chorei people. However, in the early 18th Century according to Raj Mala by Kailash Ch. Singha Ch. III p-13 the Chorei tribe has been inserted at sl. 8 as one of the sub-tribes of the HALAM Community.
In many other books by various Scholars "Chorei's" has been accounted as one of the tribes' indigenous tribes of Northeast India.
